Planning permission granted for almost 200 houses at Carley’s Bridge
WEXFORD County Council has granted permission for an application to develop almost 200 new houses and apartments at Carley’s Bridge.
The development, which will include semi-detached, terraced houses and apartments was given the green light, subject to conditions, on February 8.
The application was lodged by Torca Developments Ltd and was submitted to the local authority on June 15, 2018.
The site is located close to the new bypass linking the N30 with the new M11 motorway.
In addition to the Carley’s Bridge development a further 59 housing units are to be built on Milehouse Road.
Speaking about the later development Minister Paul Kehoe said the social housing list in Enniscorthy will be reduced by at least seven per cent through a deal with housing agency, Tuath.
Minister Kehoe said the Milehouse Road units could be ready by the end of the year.
The homes are part of a deal struck between Wexford County Council, the Department of Housing, the developer of the site and Tuath.
‘Central to the deal will see Tuath draw down a €3.75m loan from the Department of Housing which will see the speeding up of the delivery of the units,’ said Minister Kehoe.
