Woman’s remains formally identified
THE remains of a woman found in a ditch near Ferns last month have been formally identified.
Speaking to this newspaper a spokesperson for Enniscorthy Gardai said the woman was a UK national but on the request of her family they are not releasing her name to the media.
The remains of the woman, who was believed to have been living in Co Wexford for a number of years, were found in a ditch in Ballyandrew on January 7.
The Gardai also confirmed that foul play has been ruled out as a cause of the woman’s death.
‘ There was no foul play involved and a file is now being prepared for the coroner,’ said the garda spokesperson.
