-

ST Anne’s Church in Killane will play host to a very special concert on Saturday, February 23, at 7.30 p.m.

The choir of St Canice’s Cathedral, Kilkenny, will visit the church that night to perform a hallelujah concert which will feature sacred music from across five centuries.

The works performed on the night will include pieces by Palestrina, Vivaldi, Handel, Grieg and Rachmaninov.

The event is being organised as a fundraiser for the church and tickets are priced €10.

The cost of admission is inclusive of a wine and cheese reception in the parish hall after the concert.

Tickets will be available at the door or from parishioners.

A spokesperson for the organisers said some members of the choir have family and other connections with Killanne church and they graciously decided to offer their services at the event in order to raise funds for the church.

The choir will be accompanied by internationally renowned organist, Malcolm Proud, under the baton of the choir’s musical director, David Forde.

Tickets can be purchased from parishioners or at the door on the night.
