County Council resorts to court in pursuit of unpaid rates

-

WEXFORD County Council resorted to the District Court in pursuit of rates claimed from the company operating a women’s clothes and uniform shop in Gorey Town.

Evidence from rate collector Michele Browne was that Arapella Clothing Limited owed €20,887 for 2017 and 2018.

The firm had an address at 19 Leinster Square, Rathmines in Dublin.

However, the shop in question is at 42 Main Street in Gorey.

Judge John Cheatle granted the local authority a decree for the amount sought, adding €160 to cover legal costs of the proceedings.

Ms Browne told the court that the business remained open and trading.
