How our four leaders are getting on with their training regimes

-

LIAM DOYLE

So heading into our seventh week now and I’m really starting to notice the difference in my clothes and also on the scales.

We had training on Saturday in Nolan Health and Fitness with Kevin and we were really and truly put through our paces. We had pilates with Jane in Wexford Pilates Studio on Tuesday which is fantastic.

Training is stepping up a gear now as you can see. So I hope you’s are all following the plan and don’t forget to register.

CAROLINE FLEMING

A great start to the week, finally managed to run a full 5k Monday without stopping to walk, I was absolutely thrilled! Tuesday I had an appointment with Crouch and Kirwan physiotherapist to have the recovery boots on as the burn had healed well, I had a Pilaties class with Jane Kennedy Wexford Pilaties in Bellefield, after the class she showed us how we should be using the foam rollers.

Wednesday I managed another 5k again without stopping to walk, Thursday I went to the Waterfront pool, Friday I took a rest day.

Saturday Kevin meet with all the leaders in Nolan’s Gym we had a great training session but I’m not joking I could not sit the next day or walk up the stairs my legs were so sore so Sunday was another rest day.

Definitely going to try to get three runs in now this coming week.

HELEN RYAN

Last Saturday we were all in Nolan’s gym in Enniscorthy with Sean who did a circuit with us to help us with our breathing when running the advice was great for me, as I can control

my breathing running on the flat but it’s a different story when going up hill!

So that’s something I’ve been focusing on this week, going for walks around hilly roads to get my body used to going up hill as well as on the flat.

Kevin also reminded us Saturday how important our rest days are as it’s easy at the beginning to burn yourself out, so trying to keep in my mind slow and steady wins the race!!

DENISE FARRELL

I can hardly move my legs this week! Kevin Murphy is to blame. He completed a circuit with the group on Saturday and I am broke up after it.

Back in Nolan’s gym on Monday and on a positive I was able to run 1.5 miles, first time ever.

Legs nearly worse again on Tuesday.

Thanks to Crouch and Kirwan physiotherapists for working on our legs to keep us someway right.
