SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Eleanor Kidd, née Stephens, Valentia Nursing Home, Camolin and Motabower, who died during the week and was buried on Friday following 2 p.m. service in All Saints Church Carnew. WORLD DAY OF PRAYER A service for the World day of Prayer will be held in Carnew Community Care Centre on Friday, March 1, at 3.30 p.m., tea will be served at 3 p.m., this year the service is prepared by the people of Slovenia, all welcome.

DRAMA FESTIVAL LAUNCH

The launch of the South Wicklow Drama Festival will take place in Jim Byrne’s Lounge, Carnew on Thursday, February 28. Sponsors and Patrons or anyone who would like to become a patron are all welcome.

HERITAGE CLUB AGM

Carnew Heritage club held their AGM on Thursday, February 7, in Kenny’s Pint Depot with a good crowd attending the following officers were elected.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

The following are the walks for the next two weeks for Tina- hely walking club February 24: Slievebawn-Tomduff, Level B, 10km, three hours. Meet Bunclody 10 a.m. March 3: Little Sugar Loaf/Lobawn, Level B, 14km, 3.5 hours. Meet Tinahely 10 a.m.

As usual, please remember to wear proper walking boots, pack full rain gear and bring adequate food and drink.

SCOIL AODAN NAOFA CARNEW

Scoil Aodán Naofa, Carnew is now accepting enrolments for incoming junior infants for the school year 2019/20.

Scoil Aodán Naofa is a Co-Ed, inclusive, vertical school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Ferns. We are pleased to announce this year the opening of a class for children with autism in September 2019 subject to Department of Education funding and the fulfilment of criteria as laid out in the school’s admission policy for it’s ASD Class.

The school has many national awards to its credit including Active Schools Flag, Green Flag Status, Science and maths awards and School of Excellence awards for Literacy. Enrolment forms are now available for those wishing to enrol in September 2019. If you know of anyone wishing to have a child enrolled in Ballyellis please inform them that these forms are now available. SCOIL AODAN NAOFA SPLIT THE POT

The winner of February 15 of Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew splitthe-pot was won by Bríd and Niall Kavanagh, who won €232. Congratula­tions. The winners of our Valentines Hampers were Brendan Lawrence and Tom Darcy.
