The annual general meeting of Bunclody Home Care Cancer will take place in Redmond’s Lounge Bunclody tonight, Tuesday, February 26. New members welcome.

WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

Women’s World Day of Prayer will take place in St Mary’s Church Bunclody, on Friday, March 1, at 8 p.m.

BUNCLODY LIBRARY

Coming up in Bunclody Library – Thursday, February 28, at 7 p.m. – Making a Will with Ethel Deacon. A will is a document that any person can have drawn up and that they then sign. It will contain instructio­ns as to what is to happen to their assets when they die. If a person does not make a will, their estate will be divided in a way that is set out in law. However, the people who will then benefit may not be the people the deceased person would have wished to benefit. Making a will is something we all should do sooner rather than later. Thursday, March 7, at 7 p.m. – Talk on Mary Elmes with Clodagh Finn – In this talk Clodagh Finn, author of A Time to Risk All, the incredible untold story of Mary Elmes – the Irish woman who saved children from Nazi concentrat­ion camps – covers her early days in Cork, her exceptiona­l academic career, her heroic efforts in both the Spanish Civil War and World War ll. Friday, March 8, at 11 a.m. – Internatio­nal Women’s Day – Join us at Bunclody Library to celebrate Women’s achievemen­ts. Join Cllr Barbara-Anne Murphy for a relaxed chat about her life in politics with a cup of tea or coffee. Educated in Our Lady of Lourdes National School and St Mary’s FCJ Convent Secondary School, Bunclody, Barbara-Anne holds a BSc in Politics and Human Geography. GAA CLUB WALKING TRACK

Halfway House Bunclody GAA Club will light the walking track at the club grounds three nights a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. till March. Walkers must pay membership to cover insurance and the cost of electricit­y. Annual walking membership for adults is €10 and OAPs are €5 for the year.
