GAELIC4GIRLS

Kildavin-Clonegal Ladies’ Gaelic Football club are delighted to announce details of an exciting new programme called Gaelic4Girls that is commencing on Sunday, March 3. Gaelic4Girls is initially an eight-week programme aimed at increasing participation in Ladies’ Gaelic Football. The programme targets girls aged between 8 and 12 years who are not currently registered with a Ladies’ Gaelic Football Club. In his case, because this is a new club, it is open to all girls, between eight to 12 years of age, whether they have already registered with the club or not.

Gaelic4Girls focuses on fun and participation, allowing girls to get an introduction to Ladies’ Gaelic Football in a non-competitive environment. It will be held in Spellman Park, Kildavin every Sunday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. under-nine and 6-7 under-10-14. On completion of the programme, participants are presented with certificate and Jersey for their participation. Following the eight weeks, the girls will be encouraged to register with our Ladies’ Football club, and those that do will be integrated into the existing teams. A Mini Blitz will also be held with another Gaelic4Girls site during the eight weeks and this is a major highlight of the programme.

This is the first Gaelic4Girls programme to be held in the area and all girls from Kildavin, Clonegal and the surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and learn the basic skills of Ladies’ Gaelic Football. This is a great way to make new friends and learn a new sport. The cost for the entire programme is only €10. For more information, please contact Sarah Kirwan at 087 2823110.
