GAELTACHT SCHOLARSHIPS

Wexford GAA are offering 21 part-funded scholarships to Coláiste Laighean, New Ross in the summer of 2019.The scheme is based on the player’s family, the player’s club and Wexford GAA paying one-third each of the cost of the two – week residential course. Applicants apply to their local GAA Club and will be included in a draw to determine who wins the scholarship. The cost to the student’s family is only €160.

The dates of the Courses are as follows: June 23 to July 7 (Cúrsa C for second year-5th Year), July 12 to July 26 (Cúrsa D for sixth class-2nd Year). Each club may nominate two names.

Parents/guardians of Oulart-The Ballagh GAA and camogie players who would like their child to be entered for the draw are asked to contact Oulart-The Ballagh, Oifigeach Gaeilge and Cultúr, Breda Jacob (086 1686978) no later than March 4. So far, three names have been submitted locally and more are expected, so a supervised draw will be held to determine which two names will be submitted to Wexford GAA. And then the successful applicants will be notified. There is still time to indicate your interest in the scheme, just remember the above deadline.
