GAA CLUB NOTES

After last year’s excitement, the minor hurlers will hope to go all the way this year. We have been placed in Roinn One in both football and hurling. The draw is as follows. Hurling Roinn One North, Buffers Alley, Rapparees, Blackwater, Craanford, Askamore, Ferns, Ballinastr­agh Gaels, Cloney Gaels (Davidstown/Shamrocks). Football Roinn One North Ferns, Blackwater, Starlights, Castletown, Buffers Alley, Cloney Gaels, Kilrush and Ballyhogue. The first game is this Sunday away to Ferns in Ferns at 10.30.

The intermedia­te hurlers play round two of the Leinster League this Saturday at 2 p.m. at home v Eire Óg Chorra Coill from Kildare.

Huge congratula­tions to Dar- ren Byrne, who was awarded man of the match v Tipperary recently when playing with the Wexford seniors in the league.

2019 club membership is due before March 31. Player €150, player and partner €160, student €70, non-player €60 and non-player and partner €70.

We are still on the lookout for any old memorabili­a in the parish? We would love to photograph any old medal especially one of the 1899 or 1901 Leinster or all-Ireland final medals, there must be one floating around the parish? Even any old jerseys.

No winner of last nights lotto. Numbers drawn were 4, 13, 31 and 32 and the bonus 22. Next jackpot is €11,400. Lucky-dip winners were John Buttle, Dean Wright, Thomas Murphy, Patrick and Karen O’Connor, Paul O’Brien and seller’s prize Nancy Hamilton.

WATER SAFETY AGM

Wexford Water Safety’s AGM will take place on March 2 at 7.30 p.m. in the Talbot Hotel, Wexford.
