OPERATION TRANSFORMA­TION/ IRELAND LIGHTS UP

Cloughbawn GAA Club is coming on board with Operation Transforma­tion and the GAA for this year’s Ireland Lights Up initiative. Every Thursday from January 9 to February 27 our club walking track will be open and lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. We want everyone to come and join us for Ireland Lights Up 2020 on Thursday nights.

The aim is to make exercise more accessible on these dark winter nights and to offer our community an opportunit­y to get together and socialise in a healthy way. Both members and non-members are welcome to come to this event.

CLOUGHBAWN GAA

The club dinner dance will take place on Saturday, January 25, in the Riverside Park Hotel at 7.30, followed by music from American Heart, Tickets €35 from committee members

Lotto – There was no winner of the recent lotto, numbers drawn were 8, 19, 23 and 27. There was two winners of match-three numbers, Trish McDonald Poulpeasty and Zoey Kennedy Palace, Next draw will take place on Friday, January 17, in the Cloch Ban.

SPLIT-THE-POT

The winner of this week’s splitthe-pot drawn in the Boro Inn, was Alan Culleton Ballywilli­am, the pot was €266, Remember by supporting Splitting the pot, you are supporting the village. Thank You.

SYMPATHY

We extend our sympathy to the Greene and Nolan families on the recent death of Kathleen Greene, who passed away peacefully at Knockeen Nursing Home. Beloved wife of Jack and much loved mother of Mary, Kathleen, Seán, Rita and predeacese­d by her daughters Bernadette and Pauline. Sadly missed by her husband, daughters, son, her sisters Alice and May, brothers Bill and the late John-Joe, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, daughter-in-law Annmarie, sons-in-law Jimmy and Jack, grandchild­ren Sarah, Shane, Rachel, Becky (RIP), James, Paul, Bobby, Jack, Kate, Jack and Darragh, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.
