BALLINDAGG­IN STORY HOUSE

Ban an Tí Marie Doyle welcomed everyone to the first story house of 2020 and wished all a happy New Year. It was a great entertaini­ng night of music, song and story.

There was lots of great party pieces on the night including Sally Hobson dancing a reel. Votes of sympathy were passed to Marie Coleman on the death of her brother-in-law Owen Heffernan, to Noel Doyle on the death of his brother Pat Doyle and to Anne Farrell on the death of her sister Rita Farrell, a minutes silence was observed.

Anne Farrell thanked sincerely all who sympathise­d with them on the death of Rita, all who attended the wake and funeral and sent Mass cards, sympathy cards and letters of sympathy and all who supported them in any way, it is deeply appreciate­d. Prayerful good wishes was extended to all who are ill at this time.

There was a door prize on the night and it was won by Anne Quigley, Boolabeg. Bean an Tí thanked all for their support of Ballindagg­in Story House. The proceeds of the raffle goes to the upkeep of Ballindagg­in Community Hall.

POINT TO POINT

The Ballinagor­e Harriers are having their very first point-topoint on Sunday next, January 19, at Ballycryst­al, Kiltealy. First race is at 12.30 p.m. Its sure to be an enjoyable afternoon.

The Duffry Social Club will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, January 15, following the Christmas break with bingo, cards, chat and refreshmen­ts. New members always welcome to come along for an enjoyable afternoon.
