Irish Water looking at Vinegar Hill increase

IRISH Water is currently looking at the increase in treatment capacity of the Vinegar Hill Water Treatment Plant in Enniscorth­y.

At this months meeting of the local Municipal District Council, Senior Executive Engineer, Tadhg O’Corcora, also said that Nicholas O’Dwyer Ltd has been appointed to carry out Phase 1A capital design of a new permanent water supply intake for Clonhastin which will be aimed at increasing the water abstractio­n from the river Slaney by 100 per cent.

The work will involve a new intake plant at Clonhastin and in his report Mr O’Corcora said an appropriat­e assessment is was prepared for the works.
