Concern over broken bottles around town

A member of Enniscorthy Municipal District has expressed concern over the issue of broken bottles in the town.

Cllr Aidan Browne said there was a particular issue in relation to the matter in areas like the laneway between St Patrick’s Park and the Sli na Slainte estate.

Cllr Browne said: ‘ There are a lot of shortcuts in the town and they’re areas where bottles are being broken and it’s a serious issue.’

Senior Executive Engineer, Tadhg O’Corcora, said in response that there were reductions in CE scheme outdoor crews in the wake of the current crisis but added: ‘I will ask them to look at that area.’
