Blackstairs Blues is off

The organisers of this year’s Blackstairs Blues Festival in Enniscorthy have regretfully been forced to cancel the event for 2020.

In a statement the committee behind the event said it held off on making a decision one way or another until the Government roadmap for reopening the country was released.

However, with the guidelines around social distancing, limited public gatherings and the planned time for bars and pubs to reopen the committee said it would not be feasible to run the Blackstairs Blues Festival this September.

In their statement, the committee said: ‘ While this has been a hard decision to bear, we will endeavour to have performances on Facebook over the Blues weekend. Watch this space.’

The committee also said that if an opportunity arises whereby they might be able to run the event at a later date, they plan to do so.
