Eoin makes the list of BBC’s top 100

May 2003

-

Wexford author Eoin Colfer has become the only living Irish author nominated for BBC television’s Big Read 100 list.

Eoin’s work Artemis Fowl, the adventures of a 12-year-old criminal mastermind, was listed among the top 100 bedside reads, putting the Wexford man alongside children’s authors including Roald Dahl, JK Rowling, and the Belfast-born CS Lewis.

As well as Eoin, and CS Lewis, the other Irish authors honoured in the list are James Joyce, for Ulysses, and Dublin Robert Tressell, for his witty tract, The Ragged Trousered Philanthropist.
