St Joseph’s focuses on student wellbeing in very special week
TAKING the holistic approach to education is a secondary school in Rush which took time out recently to focus on the wellbeing of its students.
Recently in St. Joseph’s Secondary School Rush was Wellbeing Week.
This is a vital week in the school schedule which allows students and teachers alike to reflect and partake in activities to highlight the importance of each person’s own physical and mental wellbeing.
This week provided an opportunity to participate in activities including: lessons on anti-bullying; mindfulness exercises; yoga classes; recreational and sports club speed day; talks from guest speakers on racism, healthy relationships and cyber security; and more.
Students were also provided with healthy eating fresh fruit samples as alternative choices for snacks at break time and lunch. The week was topped off for the students with their school tours where they went to places such as Croke Park and Carlingford.
