Councillor asks help for groups applying for renewal grant aid
THE council has been asked to ‘meet with Donabate Portrane Liasion Committee and Donabate Portrane Community Council and the Local Tidy Towns group with a view to making a formal application for the 2018 Town and Village Renewal Scheme in order for an application to be submitted around a number of key areas within both Donabate and Portrane that require obvious renewal and improvement.’
Making the request and acknowledging the Portrane area had been successful in winning a grant under the scheme, this year was Cllr Adrian Henchy (FF).
In response, the council issued a postive response to the local councillor.
In a written report, the local authority stated: ‘Arrangements will be made to meet with the groups listed in the near future with a view to discussing their proposals under the 2018 Town & Village Renewal Scheme.’
Portrane won €32,000 in grants under the scheme, which were announced recently by the Government
