Tesco col­leagues vote Sonata as big win­ner at Val­ues Awards

SONATA Bur­baite a col­league from Tesco’s Donabate Dis­tri­bu­tion Cen­tre was one of the big win­ners at the 2018 Tesco Ire­land Val­ues Awards. Sonata Bur­baite from the Donabate Dis­tri­bu­tion cen­tre took home the cov­eted tro­phy for Col­league of the Year.

This is the sev­enth year of the Tesco Ire­land Val­ues Awards, which took place at a spe­cial cer­e­mony in the Clay­ton Burling­ton Ho­tel.

Voted for by Tesco col­leagues coun­try­wide, the awards recog­nise ex­cel­lence amongst the re­tailer’s 13,000 strong work­force across 12 dif­fer­ent cat­e­gories in­clud­ing Col­league of the Year, Store Man­ager of the Year and Team of the Year, among oth­ers.

Cus­tomers were also in­vited to nom­i­nate some­one they felt went that ex­tra mile in the cat­e­gories Ser­vice Su­per­star and Driver of the Year.

Nom­i­nated by her col­leagues in Tesco’s Dis­tri­bu­tion Cen­tre, Sonata is well re­garded across Tesco as a fan­tas­tic leader and a real team player.

Work­ing as a se­nior clerk, she is su­per or­gan­ised, en­sur­ing that the right stock is in the right place at the right time.

Col­leagues recog­nised that she works ef­fec­tively with col­leagues across all de­part­ments and con­sis­tently goes out of her way to sup­port ev­ery­one.

Kari Daniels, the chief ex­ec­u­tive of Tesco Ire­land con­grat­u­lated award win­ners, say­ing: ‘We are al­ways amazed at the lengths our col­leagues from across the coun­try go to, to serve Ire­land’s shop­pers a lit­tle bet­ter ev­ery day.’
