Tesco colleagues vote Sonata as big winner at Values Awards
SONATA Burbaite a colleague from Tesco’s Donabate Distribution Centre was one of the big winners at the 2018 Tesco Ireland Values Awards. Sonata Burbaite from the Donabate Distribution centre took home the coveted trophy for Colleague of the Year.
This is the seventh year of the Tesco Ireland Values Awards, which took place at a special ceremony in the Clayton Burlington Hotel.
Voted for by Tesco colleagues countrywide, the awards recognise excellence amongst the retailer’s 13,000 strong workforce across 12 different categories including Colleague of the Year, Store Manager of the Year and Team of the Year, among others.
Customers were also invited to nominate someone they felt went that extra mile in the categories Service Superstar and Driver of the Year.
Nominated by her colleagues in Tesco’s Distribution Centre, Sonata is well regarded across Tesco as a fantastic leader and a real team player.
Working as a senior clerk, she is super organised, ensuring that the right stock is in the right place at the right time.
Colleagues recognised that she works effectively with colleagues across all departments and consistently goes out of her way to support everyone.
Kari Daniels, the chief executive of Tesco Ireland congratulated award winners, saying: ‘We are always amazed at the lengths our colleagues from across the country go to, to serve Ireland’s shoppers a little better every day.’
