MALAHIDE Chamber of Commerce have come up with an innovative idea this Christmas to encourage people not only to shop local but proudly display the fact that they have done their Christmas shopping with local traders.

Specially designed ‘Malahide Christmas Shopping Bags’ are being distributed to local traders by the chamber so when customers choose to shop local, they can proudly walk down the street with their Malahide shopping bag, proving they made that sensible choice.

The chamber hopes that local traders will see the wisdom in the idea and order the bags which may become a fairly ubiquitous sight on the streets of Malahide, this Christmas.

The chamber said the new initiative is aimed to ‘help promote the importance of local shopping this Christmas season. We ask all retailers to feature these bags as part of their unique offering’

It’s a timely reminder to shoppers all over Fingal to consider shopping local this Christmas and boost your local trade.
