Malahide Golf Club gets arty to support Hospice
GOLF gave way to art at Malahide Golf Club recently when the club hostes its Annual Art Exhibition.
It is a charity event held every year at the golf club where some of its more artistic members who are part of an Art Group display their wares on the golf club walls and raise money for a worthy cause.
That most worthy of causes this year was St Francis Hospice and one of the highlights of the event each year, is the raffle of a painting by a well-known artist.
This year, the painting raffled was a painting entitled ‘The Lighthouse at Old Head of Kinsale’ by Jeanette Brophy.
The raffle was a massive success, raising a whopping €1,500 for a grateful St Francis Hospice.
The Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Anthony Lavin (FG) did the honours in opening the exhibition which was enjoyed by all who attended including the artists who got to display their work publicly in this unique exhbition.
Well done to everyone in the Art Group who put the event together and thanks goes from the group to all who attended.
