Charg­ing point roll-out goes on

THE roll-out of elec­tric car charg­ing points at Fin­gal County Coun­cil’s staff car parks and de­pots has com­menced as part of the com­mit­ment to­wards be­com­ing more en­ergy ef­fi­cient.

Five car-charg­ing points have been in­stalled in the Ex­ec­u­tive Car-park in Swords and are cur­rently be­ing tested.

Two ex­tra charg­ing points will be added to the three al­ready avail­able at the Civic Of­fices in Blan­chard­stown while the in­stal­la­tion of four car-charg­ing points has com­menced in the Staff Car-park at the Seatown Road Round­about.

A book­ing sys­tem to man­age the use of all charg­ing points is cur­rently be­ing de­vised. This will also al­low the Build­ing Fa­cil­i­ties Depart­ment to mon­i­tor us­age so that ex­tra charg­ing points can be in­stalled as more staff move over to elec­tric and hy­brid ve­hi­cles.

Fin­gal al­ready has 12 ded­i­cated fast-charg­ing points which were in­stalled ear­lier this year across five Fin­gal of­fices and de­pots, and are used by Fin­gal’s Elec­tric Ve­hi­cle fleet, staff and con­trac­tors.
