Charging point roll-out goes on
THE roll-out of electric car charging points at Fingal County Council’s staff car parks and depots has commenced as part of the commitment towards becoming more energy efficient.
Five car-charging points have been installed in the Executive Car-park in Swords and are currently being tested.
Two extra charging points will be added to the three already available at the Civic Offices in Blanchardstown while the installation of four car-charging points has commenced in the Staff Car-park at the Seatown Road Roundabout.
A booking system to manage the use of all charging points is currently being devised. This will also allow the Building Facilities Department to monitor usage so that extra charging points can be installed as more staff move over to electric and hybrid vehicles.
Fingal already has 12 dedicated fast-charging points which were installed earlier this year across five Fingal offices and depots, and are used by Fingal’s Electric Vehicle fleet, staff and contractors.
