Skellig Six18 Distillery was born out of the Skellig community that took on seemingly impossible challenges built at the edge of two worlds in Cahersiveen, the “town that climbs the mountain and looks upon the sea.” For centuries, communities have settled within the raw beauty of this land and seascape until both the area and its devoted inhabitants have gained a reputation for being wild and free.

Learn how the Distillery’s name was inspired by the UNESCO world heritage site (on the nearby

Skellig Rocks) where sixth century monks hand-crafted six hundred and eighteen steps on the island’s rockface to reach their monastery. There is also a special opportunity to witness the evolution of this distillery that is in the process of expanding through the installation of a brand-new whiskey distillery.
