What exactly is astrology and how can it help you plan the perfect holiday?

This last year, housebound for so long, we are now dreaming of summer weeks ahead when we can go for that long-awaited staycation.

Using information in our natal astrology chart can help plan the ideal venue.

Our natal birth chart represents what our soul came into this lifetime to learn and experience.

There are also however, several other variations of your astrology chart.

Your synastry chart for example, tells you how you and your partner and children interact.

We all know the couple where one plans ahead for the year, whereas their partner flies by the seat of their pants, yet it all works out perfectly.

They most likely have Saturn, the planet which symbolises routine and structure, in different signs. Or the children whose Moons fall in different signs.

The Moon in our natal chart represents home, family, nurturing and our sense of emotional fulfilment.

A child with an Aries Moon - a fire sign which is rules by Mars - will most likely want to emotionally express themselves by simply doing. A child with their Moon in Cancer - a water sign - will be much more sensitive and emotionally intuitive. Given all that we have experienced this past year, what planets might best support us on upcoming holidays?

Well, you may not know, but the planets in your natal chart have a resonance all over the world, including Ireland.

This is a highly-specialised branch of astrology known as Astrocartography. Using planets in your natal chart can help you have either an invigorating action-packed holiday

(your Mars line) or a dreamy creative holiday (your Neptune line).

Have you ever arrived somewhere and felt instantly at home?

That is usually because you are either near or on a Moon line. The Moon represents home in our natal chart.

If you want to feel you shine, then spending time close to your Sun line will help. These planetary lines have a radius varying from 17 miles to 130 miles. Another important thing to note is that the person booking the holiday will carry most of the energy on behalf of the whole family or group.

So, these next weeks, take time to dream and plan.

Do you want to feel reinvigorated?

Mars it is. Do you want to feel deeply transformed? Well, hello Pluto. Would you like to improve communication all round? There we are, Mercury.

How would you like to feel more expansive? Doing a road trip round Ireland? Jupiter it is for you so.

With the year we’ve had, it really is more important than ever to make sure we plan the optimum holiday - so we can return home reinvigorated and rejuvenated.

You can also use a technique called transits, which indicate where the planets are in your natal chart right now, to plan the optimum time out to take. Many of us may have extra holiday time accrued too. Take that time off, I implore you.

You can start by journaling about the ideal holiday. Writing down what you wish to invoke.

Another thing which helps is to put images of where you would like to go on your walls. Maps too. It makes is more real and helps with faster manifestation. Now go book that holiday.
