SNOW HOLIDAY

Boolavogue NS reopened on Tuesday last, March 6, after the snow storm. Even then, the roads were barely passable with only one lane open on many roads and some people still snowed in. A big thanks to all who helped clear paths and roads. Without your civic spirit, many would have been trapped for much longer.

EASTER PARISH RAFFLE

Lines for the Parish Raffle will be on sale before and after weekend Masses in St Cormac’s this weekend. Each line costs €2 and you can buy three for €5. There are sixteen prizes in total on offer and the draw will take place on March 25 after the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass. Your generous support would be gratefully appreciate­d and all proceeds will go to church funds.

EASTER FITNESS CAMP

The GAAs Easter Activity Camp is filling up but you can still book a place by contacting Jonothan Dunne at 083 0022912. The camp will run from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. each day and will include hurling, camogie and football skills developmen­t as well as athletics and rounders. It only costs €25 for one child, €40 for two siblings or €50 for three or more from the same family.

BIGGEST LOSER RAFFLE

The Biggest Loser Raffle takes place on Saturday, March 31, in Kelly’s, The Harrow. If you haven’t already bought one, you should rush and get yourself a ticket as it won’t be long till the draw organised by the Boolavogue team in the ‘Biggest Loser’ contest, will take place.

Imagine having top class Chef, Paul O’Loughlin call to your house and cook a scrumptiou­s dinner for eight. Each ticket only costs €5 or you can get three for €10 from any member of the Boolavogue team. And if you don’t win the first prize, there are plenty more including 1.5L of whiskey, a trailerloa­d of sticks, wine, sweets and buiscuits.

SOCCER NEWS

All schoolboy and schoolgirl soccer was cancelled last weekend due to the snow. Training also interrupte­d up to mid week due to snow lying.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD

With St Patrick’s Day falling on a Saturday, the Vigil Mass for the feast day will be on Friday the 16th. And Éinín Rossiter is scheduled to read at this Mass at 8 p.m. on Friday. James Breen is the reader at the St Patrick’s Day Mass. Aodhagán Swords will be reading at the Vigil Mass at 8 p.m. on Saturday evening with Gaye Gahan reading at the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday the 18th.

On Friday evening, March 16, Caroline Farrington is the Eucharisti­c Minister helping distribute Holy Communion at the Vigil Mass while Kathleen Kehoe will be helping at the 11 a.m. Mass on St Patrick’s Day. The Eucharisti­c Minister on duty on Saturday night is Cormac O’Loughlin while Philip Kehoe will be helping distribute Holy Communion at the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday morning the 18th.
