Donohoe Skoda on the ball for Special Olympics Leinster
DONOHOE Skoda’s contribution to a delicious fundraiser was marked last week as they handed over a cheque for €1,000 to Special Olympics Ireland.
The contribution went towards supplies for the ‘Cops n’ Donuts’ fundraiser which took place at the Wexford Motor Show last month.
The event saw gardaí, special Olympics athletes and volunteers sell doughnuts to raise funds and increase awareness for Special Olympics Leinster. Donohoe Skoda were delighted to sponsor the initiative which was organised by the Law Enforcement Torch Run - an organisation that has been in partnership with Special Olympics for many years.
Members of the public were encouraged to purchase a pack of doughnuts for a great cause and the people of Wexford did not disappoint raising an amazing €3,564.23 for the local organisation.
Handing over the cheque for Donohoes’ contribution, Brand Manager Austin Codd said: ‘The Wexford Cops n Donuts event has become an annual success helping Special Olympics change the lives of athletes with an intellectual disability all over Co. Wexford and Ireland.
Donohoe Skoda were delighted to work with Special Olympics Leinster and the local Gardaí on this great event as we see the huge benefits the proceeds made from events like this one have on our local Special Olympics Athletes across our communities on a daily basis.’
Regional Fundraising Coordinator Eoin Treanor was delighted to receive the cheque and thanked Donohoe’s Skoda for their support. He also encouraged those looking to get involved in Special Olympics Leinster to contact him at eoin.treanor@specialolympics.ie for more information.
