NORTH Wexford SPCA is struggling to cope with the demand for its services and their cattery is full to overflowing.

As a result, the dedicated volunteers from NWSPCA held a kitten adoption day in Maxi Zoo last weekend and 14 of their little furry friends found a forever home.

‘We’ve had firm offers of homes for 14 kittens,’ said Rosie McKenna, cattery foster coordinator. ‘We also met lots of people who might be interested in adopting at some time in the future.’

The only long term solution for this ongoing problem is for more people to spay or neuter their cats, but in the meantime NWSPCA foster care team try to care for as many cats as they can. ‘The day was a great success,’ added Rosie. NWSPCA would like to thank Helen and all the staff at Maxi Zoo for the support; cattery volunteers Meg, Lisa, Mary, Kerrie and Yvette for their hard work; and Zack and Libby who helped with kitten handling.

To check out some of the cats and kittens available for adoption, call NWSPCA on 087 639 2531 for a viewing.
