Held mobile while driving
A PROSECUTION for holding a mobile phone while driving was resisted all the way by John Reidy (31), Camolin Park when he appeared at the District Court in Wexford, to no avail.
Garda David Kelleher’s evidence was that he saw a phone held to the defendant’s right ear in Oylegate on February 5.
Reidy’s version of events was that he was in pain and holding his hand to his head after sustaining a gash an hour earlier as he was hit by a steel bar.
Judge Gerard Haughton accepted the garda’s evidence, imposing a conviction with a €150 fine.
