Bibi Baskin motivates at packed Gorey show

- By SARA GAHAN

AN EVENING with motivational speaker Bibi Baskin in the Ashdown Park Hotel last week was a sell-out, with 120 people traveling from near and far to attend the event.

Drawing from her experience living in India the last 15 years, the former RTE television and radio presenter spoke about wellness, life lessons, wisdom and all things life affirming.

Bibi, who is now back living in Ireland, took to social media after the event to thank Bernie Kirwan for organising the talk in Gorey. She added it was ‘a great turnout and a most attentive audience’.

‘I regularly listen to her inspirational podcasts and sent her a message about coming to Wexford to do an event,’ said Bernie. ‘She replied saying let’s make this happen.’

Bibi grew up in County Donegal. She presented a television programme called Evening Extra from 1986 to 1988 and then had her own chat show named Bibi. She left RTE in 1994 to work in New York and Britain. Bibi returned briefly to RTE in 1998 to present The Saturday Show before working on different projects. Bibi is an advocate of healing medicine and therapies.

She visited India in 2001 and discovered a property which she turned into a heritage guest house and hotel. The property opened for business in 2003 with 10 bedrooms, offering yoga and treatments.
