Pleaded guilty to exploitation of child

A COUNTY WEXFORD man has pleaded guilty to utilising a child for sexual exploitation.

The defendant pleaded guilty when he came before Judge Cormac Quinn at Wexford Circuit Criminal Court.

The court was told by Prosecuting Counsel Ms Sinead Gleeson that the offence occurred sometime between November 5, 2015, and November 10, 2015.

Defence Counsel Aidan Doyle requested an adjournment in the matter to April 11 next year. He also asked for the preparation of a Probation and Welfare report.

Ms Gleeson also applied for the preparation of a Victim Impact statement.

Judge Quinn granted the applications.

Judge Quinn also said that reporting restrictions applied to the naming of the defendant, the victim, or anything that may identify either party.
