James Wall (25) of 43 Hunter’s Green in Gorey was not in court as he was fined €2,000 and banned from driving for two years. The court was told that he was intercepted in the Beachside housing estate in February. He was not in court.

Also fined €2,000 in his absence was Andrius Baltinas (31) of 70 Creaghwood, Gorey who was pulled up by Garda Gavin Cahill in Tomsilla one afternoon in April. In this case a three year disqualification was imposed.

Pat McManus, formerly from Mount Greaney, Coolnagloose, Gorey but now resident at 8 Ely Close, Ely Court, Firhouse, Dublin was banned from driving for two years and fined €250. He was described by his solicitor as a retired gentleman who draws a State pension. He was found driving his daughter’s vehicle one afternoon in 2016.

Truck driver Gary Cunniffe (32) from 25 Chestnut Walk in Kilmuckridge was spared a disqualification after the court was told that he was not aware that cover had been transferred from the vehicle he was driving on February 15. He was on the road in response to a call from Wexford General telling him that his father, died the following morning, was in difficulty. A fine of €300 was recorded.
