Visitors go rumbling to grab a bargain

-

A rumble jumble sale in aid of Gorey’s Senior Citizens annual Christmas party was a great success last week.

This was the second year Gorey Family Resource Centre held the fundraising event and said it was a great day filled with numerous items for sale such as clothes, shoes, unwanted gifts furniture and bric-a-brac.

Lisa Molly, family and community development officer at Gorey Family Resource Centre, said they had two rooms filled with sellers and more than 40 visitors attending the event looking to buy something special.

The total amount raised is not yet known and will be announced later in the week.

‘We are delighted with the amount of support we got, especially with the donations we received towards the cause,’ said Lisa.

The rumble jumble sale was opened to the public who wished to come along and sell unwanted items from their homes.

The Gorey Senior Citizens Christmas party will take place on Thursday, December 13, at 6 p.m., in the Amber Springs Hotel.
