Gorey’s Ben does county proud at final

First place in the beginners section went to Ben Davis from Gorey in the ‘Battle of the Parks’ scooter competition held recently at Wreckless in Gorey Business Park.

Owen Greton from Sligo came second, while Darragh Furley, also from Sligo, placed third.

Riders from all over the country, and the UK, attended the competition to see Wreckless in Gorey and Zero Gravity in county Sligo go head to head.

Alexander Butler of Wreckless said the standard of scooter riding was very high on the day and it was an excellent event.

‘There were amazing prizes won over the event which were generously donated by our sponsors SDG, Distribution, Blunt, Fasen, Spider Industries and DFQ Clothing,’ said Alexander.’

Other results were as follows: Intermediate – 1, Cian Burnett; 2, Leo Cronin; 3, Shane Doyle; Advanced – 1, Aaron O’Donnaghoe; 2, Harry Stoney; 3, Oisin Grassick; Best trick was Aaron O’Donnaghoe.

The Wreckless Indoor Skatepark opened in August 2015, across two units in Gorey Business Park. It offers features and obstacles that are not found in other parks around the country.
