Inaugural Coolgreany Vintage Day supports two charities
THE hugely successful inaugural Coolgreany Vintage Day lead to the handover of two cheques to local charity organisations on Thursday.
More than 50 of the people involved in the fundraiser attended the Coolgreany Inn where firstly, chairman of Coolgreany Vintage Club Dan Kennedy handed over a cheque for €4000 to Dr Michael O’Doherty representing North Wexford Hospice, and the club secretary Geraldine O’Rafferty presented a cheque for €2000 to Maureen Kelly representing Coolgreany Tidy Towns Group.
Both recipients expressed gratitude for the donations.
At the conclusion of the presentations Mr Kennedy thanked everyone for attending on the night and especially for there great efforts on the day of the Vintage Day which took place on September 9 when everyone put their shoulders to the wheel to make the day one of the best in the South East area on their first ever attempt at such a venture.
He also thanked everyone who helped with the car and tractor run on the bank holiday weekend.
Thanks were also expressed to all photographers local press who publicised the event.
