Inaugural Coolgreany Vintage Day supports two charities

THE hugely successful inaugural Coolgreany Vintage Day lead to the handover of two cheques to local charity organisati­ons on Thursday.

More than 50 of the people involved in the fundraiser attended the Coolgreany Inn where firstly, chairman of Coolgreany Vintage Club Dan Kennedy handed over a cheque for €4000 to Dr Michael O’Doherty representi­ng North Wexford Hospice, and the club secretary Geraldine O’Rafferty presented a cheque for €2000 to Maureen Kelly representi­ng Coolgreany Tidy Towns Group.

Both recipients expressed gratitude for the donations.

At the conclusion of the presentati­ons Mr Kennedy thanked everyone for attending on the night and especially for there great efforts on the day of the Vintage Day which took place on September 9 when everyone put their shoulders to the wheel to make the day one of the best in the South East area on their first ever attempt at such a venture.

He also thanked everyone who helped with the car and tractor run on the bank holiday weekend.

Thanks were also expressed to all photograph­ers local press who publicised the event.
