Had a €10 joint

Shop assistant Marcel Wawryniuk (19) from 115 Clonattin Village, Gorey, attended the District Court to deal with a drugs possession prosecution. He took responsibility for a cannabis joint seized by Garda Adam Lally in Clonattin on April 2. Judge Gerard Haughton offered him an opportunity to avoid a conviction, by making a €400 contribution to the Cornmarket Project by January 10.

The court noted that he had no previous convictions and the gardaí put a value of €10 on the joint.
