Gorey on cloud nine as Vickers brothers shine

Division 3

Leaders Gorey Rangers continued their remarkable run in Division 3, seeing off Shamrock Rovers 3-1 in their top of the table clash to make it nine wins from nine.

The Vickers brothers did the damage for the north county side, with Ethan netting a double and Dylan grabbing their other goal, while Elliott Jordan replied for Rovers.

Raheen and Wexford Celtic shared the spoils after a 3-3 draw, with Seán Tyrrell (two) and Luke Codd scoring for the town side.

Bunclody and St. Joseph’s also picked up a point apiece after a 2-2 draw. Paddy Kavanagh and Cian Cowman scored for Bunclody, while Seán Furlong bagged both goals for Joey’s.

Rathnure fought back from 2-0 down to take all three points in their basement battle with Wexford Albion.

Goals from Ciarán Byrne and Tom Quigley looked to have Albion in the driving seat but Rathnure turned it around, with Adam Carty, Anthony Westnott and Nicky Quigley hitting the back of the net.

Meanwhile, Bree United picked up three points as they were handed a walkover from Duncannon.

Division 3A

Rosslare Strand are sitting pretty in Division 3A after a 4-2 win over Ballymurn Celtic on Sunday.

Dillon Parle, Tom McCarthy and Danny O’Reilly (two) got on the scoresheet for the winners, with Shane Campbell and Josh Whitehead hitting the back of the net for Ballymurn.

Forth Celtic are level with Strand at the summit as an Anthony Hayes goal was enough for them to overcome Corach Ramblers.

Oylegate United came out on top 4-3 in a remarkable contest against Fethard Rangers, with all seven goals coming in the first-half. Oylegate looked in complete control when goals from Richard Murphy, Lee Kehoe and Jimmy Kinsella put them 3-0 up. However, Fethard fought back to draw level, with Jean-Luc Tubritt scoring twice and Chris Colfer and also getting in on the act.

Richard Murphy nosed the hosts back in front just before the interval with his second and that proved to be the winner.

A Jason Pettit goal was the difference between the sides as All Blacks edged out Rosslare Rangers.

Division 4

Leaders Carne FC got another three pointsw on the board on Sunday as they eked out a 3-2 win over Kiltealy Celtic.

Joe O’Keeffe, Seán Patrick Dunne and Leigh Aylward scored for the winners, with David Jordan and John McCarthy hitting the back of the net for Kiltealy.

Camolin Celtic are very much in the shake-up and they edged out The Ballagh United at the weekend, with Peter McSwiney and Glen Carton getting their goals in a 2-1 win, with Cathal Kenny replying. Philip O’Connor (two), Jamie St. Ledger and Barry Ryan got on the scoresheet for Rosbercon United as they drew 4-4 in Courtown.

Rob Ronan, Gary Breslin and Dickie Redmond got the goals for Ferns United as they won 3-1 in Curracloe, with Mark O’Connor scoring for the hosts. Division 4A

Matty Flynn was the star man for St. Leonards as they moved to within two points of the leaders in Division 4A.

Flynn bagged a hat-trick for the saints, while Eric Egan and Dylan Ryan also got on the scoresheet in their 5-2 win over Tombrack.

Enniscorth­y Town shocked high-flying St. Joseph’s, with Mark O’Reilly and Kallan Murphy getting their goals in a 2-1 victory, and Mikey Keane replying.

Adam Winters and Jamie Codd (two) hit the back of the net for Taghmon United, but they lost out 7-3 to Caim United, with Paudie Leacy scoring four for the winners and Brendan Kearney, Glenn Rafter and Michael Kearns also getting in on the act.

Stephen Griffin got the goal for Killenagh as they drew 1-1 away to Castledock­rell. Division 5

Adam Hogan grabbed a hattrick for Bunclody on Sunday as the leaders ran out 4-1 winners over Wexford Celtic.

Dion Dunne got their other goal, while Brandon O’Brien replied for Celtic.

Wexford Bohs got back to winning ways in style as they overwhelme­d St. Cormac’s 5-1. Beau Brennan (two), Gary O’Brien, John Conway and Darren Lambert scored for the winners, while Ray O’Brien got on the scoresheet for the saints.

Shamrock Rovers came out on top against New Ross Town by the odd goal in seven thanks to doubles from Jack Redmond and Brandon O’Connor.

Enniscorth­y United had their shooting boots on as they ran out 7-1 winners over Cushinstow­n, with Rhys Dobbs netting a hat-trick and Mario Salveta, Dylan Cullen, Craig Foley and Joe Rigley adding a goal apiece. Dean Bookle got the goal for Cushinstow­n.

Pete Whelan, Alfredo Barbu and Daniel Dulgheru got the goals for Ferns United as they overcame All Blacks 3-1.
