-

Premier Division leaders Shamrock Rovers had to settle for a share of the spoils when they were held to a 1-1 draw by local rivals Moyne Rangers in their Premier Division derby on Sunday. Ricky Dwyer hit the back of the net just before half-time to give Rovers the advantage at the interval, but James Peare struck with ten minutes remaining to earn a point for Moyne.

Corach Ramblers moved into third place after a 5-1 victory in Bunclody, with Niall Harney helping himself to a hat-trick for the visitors and John Staples adding a double. Paddy Kavanagh got the goal for the hosts.

Leaders Kilmore United suffered their second defeat of the campaign on Sunday when they were beaten 4-2 in Campile.

Shane Cassidy continued his fabulous scoring run with two goals for the table-toppers, but it wasn’t enough to take anything from the game as David Larkin bagged a hat-trick for the hosts and P.J. Banville added to their tally.

St. Cormac’s moved to within a point of the leaders after chalking up a comfortable 4-1 win away to Moyne Rangers.

James Sweeney, Mick Sweeney, Jamie Dempsey-Doyle and Stephen ‘Foster’ Lacey scored for the saints, with Diarmuid Cullen converting a free-kick for Moyne.

A Jamie Walsh goal was enough for Tombrack United to edge out New Ross Town, as they remained hot on the heels of the top two.

Gavin Murphy and Páidí Cullen got the goals for Cloughbawn as they drew 2-2 with Gorey Celtic, with Jakub Konkel netting twice for the north county men.

New Ross Celtic edged out luckless St. Leonards 4-3 with goals from Mark Lee, Anthony O’Connor and Damien Cullen (two). Kenneth Cahill replied with a double for the saints, while Niall Molloy got their other goal.
