45 CARD DRIVE

A 45 Card Drive will be held in the Coolgreany Inn each Friday night at 8.30 p.m., Everyone is welcome to come along for a good night of craic at the cards.

TIDY TOWNS

Congratula­tions to the residents of Croghan View and Croghan Close, who picked up a prestigiou­s award in the Talbot Hotel recently, for having the whole estate looking so well, clean and litter-free. A few extra hands would make a huge difference, best wishes to all those involved.

VINTAGE CHEQUE PRESENTATI­ON

More than 50 workers and helpers attended the Coolgreany Inn last Thursday night for the handing over of two Cheques. Firstly the chairman of Coolgreany Vintage Club Dan Kennedy handed over a cheque for €4,000 To Dr Michael O’Doherty representi­ng North Wexford Hospice, and the club secretary Geraldine O’Rafferty presented a Cheque for €2,000 to Maureen Kelly representi­ng Coolgreany Tidy Towns Group. Both recipients of the Cheques responded very favourably to the receipt of the respective cheques.

At the conclusion of the presentati­ons the chairman thanked everyone for attending on the night and especially for their great efforts on the day of the Vintage Day on September 9 when all and none put their shoulders to the wheel to make the day one of the best in the South East area, on their first ever attempt at such a venture.

Dan also thanked everyone who helped with the car and Tractor run on the bank Holiday weekend. Thanks were also expressed to all photograph­ers and members of the local papers who helped so much on the occasion of both events, without that it would have made the organising more difficult he concluded.

WEDDING BELLS

Congratula­tions to Melanie Walker, Coolgreany Demesne and Colin Whelan, Ferns on their marriage in St David’s Church, Johnstown recently. The couple held their reception in the Ashdown Park Hotel where over 150 family members, friends and guests attended.

GAA CLUB AGM’S

The Castletown Liam Mellows adult AGM will take place on Friday, December 14 in the clubhouse in Tomnahealy. All are welcome to attend. The underage AGM will take place on Tuesday, November 20, at 8 p.m. in the clubhouse in Coolgreany. all welcome.

The camogie AGM is on Tuesday, November 20, at 8 p.m. in the clubhouse in Coolgreany. all welcome.

The ladies’ football club AGM will take place on Friday, November 16, at 8.30 p.m. in the clubhouse in Tomnahealy.
