- By BRENDAN KEANE

THREE craftspeople from Wexford will be among the exhibitors at Ireland’s biggest craft and design fair next month.

The three, Donal Murphy, from Clonroche, Clodagh Davis, from Balinavary, Enniscorthy and Áine Breen, from Gorey, will display their respective crafts at Gifted, which will take place in the RDS, Dublin, from Wednesday, December 5, to Sunday, December 9.

Mr Murphy is the founder of Beveledge and he specialises in individually designed furniture and fitted interiors for domestic and commercial properties all over the country.

He has almost two decades of experience in wood design and craftsmanship at home and in the US and Australia. When he returned to Ireland he was inspired to start his own business, which he did in 2012, and since then the business has grown an enviable reputation for the quality of its bespoke products.

Mr Murphy takes great pride in hand-crafting each piece and always takes time to make sure every item is perfect and he also ensures that his own unique and exquisite design traits are evident in his work. Beveledge also provides a range of hand-crafted wooden accessories.

‘Each project has its own identity and character, said Mr Murphy, when speaking about his work.

‘The Company is continually evolving and expanding in creativity,’ he added.

‘All commissioned work involves working closely with the client, from the design stage through to the finished product.’

Ms Davis set up her Naturally Cordial business as a result of a request from her son.

He asked his mum could she make lemonade for his friends and from that one small request the seeds of an idea were planted in Ms Davis’ mind.

From her base in Ballinavary she has developed the business into a thriving enterprise and now offers 11 different flavours in her range with much thought and time going into developing each one until they are the perfect.

Áine Breen is a former accountant who decided to let her creative spirit blossom in setting up Liwu Jewellery which has become a very successful business specialising in custom pieces aimed at empowering, uplifting and celebrating the wearer.

The three will be among 500 designers, creators and artisan food producers displaying their work at Gifted.

Speaking about the overall event organiser, Patrick O’Sullivan, said it will be a festive celebration.

‘Gifted is a celebration of Christmas giving and will feature the country’s largest collection of thoughtful gifts for loved ones,’ said organiser Patrick O’Sullivan.

The event will also feature a Christmas Food Emporium with over 100 artisan food producers. Visitors will be able to talk to experts who will help them plan and source every aspect of their festive meal.

Mr O’Sullivan also said there will be 10 per cent off everything on the opening day.

It’s expected that around 45,000 people will visit the showcase over the five days and the event’s official website can be accessed at www.giftedfair.ie.
