Tal­bot group’s turnover up by €3m for 2016

EX­TREMELY healthy 2017 ac­counts were filed last week by the par­ent com­pany of the Tal­bot Col­lec­tion, one of the coun­try’s most rep­utable ho­tel groups and a real Wex­ford suc­cess story.

The Col­lec­tion’s flag­ship ho­tel, the Tal­bot Wex­ford, was pur­chased in 1996 by Des Pet­titt and since this ini­tial in­vest­ment, the Tal­bot Col­lec­tion has grown and ex­panded year-on-year to now boast five fam­ily friendly 4-star ho­tels, an ex­pan­sive self-cater­ing prop­erty lo­cated in the heart of Wex­ford town – Tal­bot Suites at Stonebridge – The Dome fam­ily en­ter­tain­ment cen­tre at Tal­bot Car­low and a re­cently ac­quired lux­ury wed­ding venue.

Ac­counts filed showed the turnover for this thriv­ing ho­tel group in­creased by 9% (€3m) from 2016 to €35.2m.

The Tal­bot Col­lec­tion, who em­ploy over 500 across their ho­tels in Wex­ford, Dublin, Cork and Car­low, at­tributes these im­pres­sive fi­nan­cial re­sults pri­mar­ily to ho­tel ac­qui­si­tions cou­pled with their as­set rein­vest­ment pro­gramme.

Renowned for their warm hos­pi­tal­ity and ex­cep­tional ser­vice, cus­tomers are the num­ber one pri­or­ity of the Tal­bot Col­lec­tion. These suc­cess­ful hote­liers rein­vest prof­its back into their ho­tels to en­sure all prop­er­ties across the col­lec­tion re­main at a high stan­dard, guar­an­tee­ing guest en­joy­ment and a pos­i­tive ex­pe­ri­ence. 2017 saw a con­tin­ued fo­cus on this strat­egy with the roll­out of a €3m cap­i­tal ex­pen­di­ture pro­gramme.

With a strong 2017 per­for­mance the Tal­bot Col­lec­tion are not stop­ping there and have ex­cit­ing fu­ture ex­pan­sion and growth plans in the pipe­line. Their new­est premises, lux­ury des­ti­na­tion wed­ding venue New­bay House just out­side Wex­ford town, will wel­come happy new­ly­weds through their doors at the start of 2019.

Com­ment­ing on this strong per­for­mance and re­flect­ing on a busy year, Tal­bot Col­lec­tion Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor Philip Gavin said: ‘I am so proud of our en­tire team who must be com­mended and ap­plauded.
