Talbot group’s turnover up by €3m for 2016

-

EXTREMELY healthy 2017 accounts were filed last week by the parent company of the Talbot Collection, one of the country’s most reputable hotel groups and a real Wexford success story.

The Collection’s flagship hotel, the Talbot Wexford, was purchased in 1996 by Des Pettitt and since this initial investment, the Talbot Collection has grown and expanded year-on-year to now boast five family friendly 4-star hotels, an expansive self-catering property located in the heart of Wexford town – Talbot Suites at Stonebridge – The Dome family entertainment centre at Talbot Carlow and a recently acquired luxury wedding venue.

Accounts filed showed the turnover for this thriving hotel group increased by 9% (€3m) from 2016 to €35.2m.

The Talbot Collection, who employ over 500 across their hotels in Wexford, Dublin, Cork and Carlow, attributes these impressive financial results primarily to hotel acquisitions coupled with their asset reinvestment programme.

Renowned for their warm hospitality and exceptional service, customers are the number one priority of the Talbot Collection. These successful hoteliers reinvest profits back into their hotels to ensure all properties across the collection remain at a high standard, guaranteeing guest enjoyment and a positive experience. 2017 saw a continued focus on this strategy with the rollout of a €3m capital expenditure programme.

With a strong 2017 performance the Talbot Collection are not stopping there and have exciting future expansion and growth plans in the pipeline. Their newest premises, luxury destination wedding venue Newbay House just outside Wexford town, will welcome happy newlyweds through their doors at the start of 2019.

Commenting on this strong performance and reflecting on a busy year, Talbot Collection Managing Director Philip Gavin said: ‘I am so proud of our entire team who must be commended and applauded. The success and continued expansion of our group is thanks to their hard-work, dedicated and passionate. The name Talbot has become synonymous in the hospitality industry and we remain firmly rooted in local communities, celebrating milestones with families and offering support to local charities and community groups.

‘We are very excited for the forthcoming opening of our unique new venue, Newbay House, in the new year. We are working with a talented team of designers and landscapers creating what we are sure will become, home of the ‘happily ever after’.

The Talbot Collection is part of the Pettitt Group, which is owned by the Pettitt family. The Pettitt Group also consists of the Pettitt’s SuperValu group, which has six supermarkets in the south east.
