Gorey man pleads guilty to motoring and drug possession charges

Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

SALVIS Parfjonovs (spelling of name also given alternatively as Parrjonovs) from 102 Hazelwood in Gorey pleaded guilty to motoring and drug possession charges at his local District Court.

The judge was told that a garda search of the accused man’s car uncovered €5 worth of cannabis at Goreybridge on November 8.

It turned out that the Latvian national, aged 23, had no insurance cover.

Appearing in his defence, solicitor Macarten O’Gorman explained that his client, since unemployed, had been attempting to go to work on the day in question.

The benefit of the Probation Act was allowed on the cannabis summons, but a conviction was recorded for the lack of insurance, with fine of €300 and a two year ban from driving.
