For­mer marathon win­ners place in Croghan Chase

Pre­vi­ous Dublin City Marathon win­ner Sean He­hir claimed first prize at the 8K Croghan Chase in Cool­gre­any in aid of Talk to Tom and Croghan AC.

Fred­die Stuk, an­other for­mer Dublin City Marathon win­ner, came in sec­ond, while Croghan ACs very own Brian Ma­her placed third.

The Chase raised €1,200 each for Talk to Tom and Croghan AC.

Gary Doyle, PRO for Croghan AC, said this was their first year and they are very pleased with how the event went.

‘To have two of the top ath­letes in the coun­try take part in the Chase is amaz­ing,’ said Gary. ‘We had over 200 ath­letes take part, with 48 from our very own club.’

There was also a 4K fun run trail for peo­ple to take part in. Dara Cloake from Sli­abh Buidhe Rovers AC placed first, fol­lowed by Croghan AC mem­ber Jesse Fo­ley.

A prize giv­ing cer­e­mony took place in the Cool­gre­any Inn af­ter­wards and a raf­fle. Croghan AC thanked the stew­ards, vol­un­teers, or­gan­is­ers, the run­ners and spon­sors.
