Clonegal Tidy Village Association will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, February 27, at 8 p.m. in St Brigid’s Hall, Clonegal.
DRAMA GROUP
Kildavin-Clonegal Drama Group are busy rehearsing their production of ‘The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley’ by Jimmy Keary. The play will take to the stage on Saturday 9th, Sunday 10th and Saturday, 16th February in Spellman Hall, Kildavin. So make a note in your diary where a night of entertainment and laughter guaranteed.
SNOWDROP EVENT AT HUNTINGTON CASTLE
An original 17th century garden, with charming woodland walks featuring snowdrops and spring plantings, are available every weekend from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Huntington Garden, Clonegal. THE THREE TENORS
The Three Tenors perform in Borris Church on Saturday, February 16, at 8 p.m. Ireland’s Greatest Voices, an evening of popular classic hits from Sinatra, The Dubliners, Pavarotti and spiritual favorites.
Tickets are €25 and are available from the Parish Centre, Borris O’Shea’s Centra Borris, Brophy’s Shop Borris, The Little Shop Bagenalstown and, Doran’s SuperValu Graiguenamanagh. This is a fundraiser for Borris Church.

GALBALLY RUN/WALK
Galbally Sports and Leisure Club will host a 10k run and 5k walk on bank holiday Monday, March 18. The event will begin at 11 a.m., with registration taking place from 10 a.m. onwards. Entry fee is €5 for the 5k walk and €10 for the 10k run. Both events are open to all ages and abilities. The 10k race will be chip timed and there will be prizes for the first man and woman home. Refreshments will be served to all participants in the hall afterwards. Everyone is invited to come along and get involved in what promises to be a great community event.
COMMUNITY GAMES
Chess and Draughts has resumed in Galbally Hall on Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. All children from eight years to 15 years are welcome. Cost is €2 per child to a maximum of €4 per family.
The County Community Games will begin shortly. The local area will be represented in quiz, Talent, art, Swimming, Athletics, Chess, Draughts and tag rugby. If anyone is interested in any other event on the National Events Guide, please contact local Sec Clare Doyle at 087 4151350.
