Have your say on heritage plan
WEXFORD residents are being invited to have their say on the future of Ireland’s heritage.
A meeting in support the government’s public consultation on the future of Ireland’s heritage, in the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny, tomorrow (Wednesday, February 13), will offer those living in Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Tipperary South, Waterford and Wexford, an opportunity to contribute to the Government’s new national heritage plan, Heritage Ireland 2030. The meeting, organised by the Heritage Council, will get under way at 6.30 p.m.
The plan will outline how the country’s natural and built heritage will be managed, valued and protected over the next decade, and its implementation will be led by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
The public meeting will centre on three key questions, which prospective attendees are encouraged to consider in advance: what, do you think, is ‘our heritage’, why is heritage important to you, and what changes could take place to better protect and promote our heritage?
