Green light for Weatherglaze
WEATHERGLAZE Systems Ltd got the go-ahead to expand its factory at Clonattin Lower, Gorey.
The company had applied to Wexford County Council for permission to construct an extension to the front of its existing factory and all associated site works.
In his report planner James Lavin said the factory is located at the northern end of Gorey and forms part of a small industrial complex that comprises a bakery and a window manufacturer.
He said the site is currently zoned for industry and warehousing and there is no issue with extending the existing factory on that basis.
Mr Lavin said the external design alterations to the building are minor in nature in the context of the overall site. He said the area used as storage to the front of the building will now be roofed and incorporated into the existing building.
Wexford County Council granted permission for the development subject to certain conditions. These included: a contribution of €2,904 to improve public road; a contribution of €1,936 for the improvement of community facilities and having no surface water from the roof or paved areas coming onto the public road.
