Age-friendly parking bays

AGE-FRIENDLY parking bays will be introduced at three locations in Gorey.

Cllr Fionntán Ó Súilleabháin said he expects the parking bays to be installed in the coming days.

They will be located outside the credit union, the Bank of Ireland and the post office.

‘I’d like to compliment Area Engineer Neville Shaw for this creative initiative. It is thinking outside the box for the benefit of our elderly citizens and I hope all motorists will respect the markings and signage on these three new bays.’

Cllr Ó Súilleabháin said that Wexford has an ageing profile which is higher than that across the state and Census 2016 showed a 20 increase in over 65s in the county.
