Bunscoil Loreto overall winners of Scholastic blog competition

BUNSCOIL Loreto have been crowned the overall winners of a Scholastic blog competition, winning €500 worth of book vouchers, an iPad and a special visit from a local author.

Last week, two representatives from Scholastic came to Bunscoil Loreto to present the prizes. Carina McEvoy, author of ‘Sometimes I worry...How About You?’, also paid a visit to talk to sixth class pupils about feelings and emotions. She introduced simple tricks that will enable the children to manage their emotions and thoughts.

‘The school ran a very successful Book Fair Takeover, raising over €3,800 in book vouchers for their school,’ said teacher Susan Kavanagh. ‘As a result, they entered a blog competition through Scholastic’s website and were named the overall winners out of 80 entries.’

Susan added that they had a fantastic afternoon and are very proud of their school’s achievement.
