Motor insurance convictions
A SERIES of convictions for motor insurance offences were handed down by Judge John Cheatle sitting at the District Court in Gorey:
Bill Moorehouse (28) of 14 Ashwood Grove, Gorey admitted at the scene that he had no insurance when quizzed by a garda at Cois Linne in Gorey May 9 last fine €250;
Barry Wooton (54) of 1 Beechbrook Park, Kilmuckridge was intercepted driving a red Opel Astra in Kilmuckridge. The court was told he could not afford the price of the premium at the time fine €250;
Daniel Ungureanu (32) of 24 Beachside Avenue, Courtown was described by his solicitor as a part-time, self-employed Moldovan musician. He drove on the night in question to buy medicine from a pharmacy as his partner was in pain fine €250;
Natasha Breen (34) from Oak Manor, Rathpierce Hill in Gorey was on her way to a bank when she encountered Garda Michael Burke at Tinnock Lower on April 9 last. She took out an insurance policy the following day fine €250.
