Housing Minister set for Whites conference
MINISTER for Housing Eoghan Murphy is to be among over 300 delegates attending a major conference on Social Housing at Clayton Whites Hotel on Thursday and Friday.
The event is being hosted by the Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH), the national federation for non-profit housing associations which represents approximately 270 member organisations that manage 35,000 homes and house 90,000 people including families on low incomes, older people and people with disabilities.
The event will welcome senior staff and key decision makers from approved housing bodies, local authorities, government departments, relevant professional bodies and the wider voluntary sector and the keynote address will be given by Minister Murphy on Thursday morning. Also attending will be a large delegation of housing professionals from Boston. Among the speakers over the course of the two days will be Chrystal Kornegay, Executive Director of MassHousing in Boston; Innovation and Project Manager of Housing Europe Sébastien Garnier; Ron van Erck, Head of International Market Development at refurbishment company Energiesprong and Frans Sengers of Homes4Life. Following a full day on Thursday, there will be a gala dinner and the presentation of the ICSH / Allianz Community Housing Awards 2019.
