COOLGREANY DRAMA

Back by popular demand. A hilarious night’s comedy for only €7. Coolgreany Drama are reprising their hilarious one-act play – A Beginner’s Guide to Madness – at St Mogue’s Hall, Inch on Tuesday, October 22, and Thursday 24 at 8 p.m.

This play was a huge hit with audiences when it was presented last month in St Mogue’s, so this is a final opportunit­y to see it before it starts on the One Act all-Ireland circuit at the end of October. Written by Barry McKinley and directed by Sally Stevens, this is a fast-paced absurd comedy centring on a stressedou­t New Yorker, Josephine, and her struggles with her husband, her therapist, some other weird characters and, believe or not, a walrus in her apartment building.

Can she live happily every after? These and other questions will be answered on the night. The cast is – Eadaoin Ni Lionain; Norah Finn; Eamonn O’Sheil; Niall Hunter; Ned Dempsey; Nicola Conroy, Denise Moules and Richard Lister.

COFFEE MORNING

A coffee morning in aid of the NWSPCA will be held in the May Byrne Community House Coolgreany on Friday, October 18, it will be from 10 a.m. to midday Please come along and support, we will have the coffee scones and cake ready. Everyone welcome.

TRACTOR/CAR/ TRUCK ROAD RUN.

The Local Road Run in conjunctio­n with the Gap Club has been organised for Sunday, October 27, starting with registrati­on at 10.30 a.m., in Coolgreany and moving off at midday, The run will travel towards Arklow, Aughrim, The Tocher, and back by Wicklow Gap, and concluding at the Coolgreany Inn for refreshmen­ts and a Big Raffle. The entry fee is €20 Per Vehicle, with the proceeds going towards the Jimmy Kinsella (Wicklow Gap) Fund

The Organising Committee are appealing for massive support for this very worthy cause. PLEASE come along to Coolgreany on October 27.

ARKLOW GOLDEN CIRCLE

A day trip to IKEA has been arranged for Wednesday, October 23, at a cost of €15 bus departs KFC side of Tesco carpark at 09.30.

A shopping trip to Belfast on Saturday, November 23, at a cost of €20, Departing KFC side of Tesco Carpark at 07.30 and leaving Belfast at around 5: 30 for the return. Contact Gertie at 083 4042746 to book for any of the events.

GAA NOTES.

Castletown Liam Mellows Healthy Club group would like to congratula­te our junior camogie team on their country final win last Sunday. Great to see the girls making history as they will now be promoted to intermedia­te.

The senior footballer­s were in the County Final on Sunday in Wexford Park against Gusserane. Let’s hope they brought home the silver also.

TIDY TOWNS RESULTS

Congratula­tions and well done to the local Tidy Towns Group, who achieved a major lift in their marks for the Tidy Towns Competitio­n when the went up by eight marks, which represente­d one mark in each of the8 categories adjudicate­d upon. this return represents all the hard work put in by all the members of our community, and also the big efforts of the Community Employees, all involved should be very proud of the results, and are owed a very big thanks for all their efforts in keeping the village so pristine and colourful.

The good work is not over yet as there is further adjudicati­on of the local residents’ associatio­n prizes, so please keep up the good work into the future.
